I recently got a call from a acquaintance  who provides a service for the real estate industry. He had received a phone call from another business owner needing his services, who was frustrated that my acquaintance had no website, no online presence and could not be reached in anyway except the old way – through the yellow pages which are quickly becoming obsolete.

This potential client had heard positive feedback about his business from another industry associate at a meeting but he was located in another city and province. The first step he took was an Internet investigation to evaluate the referral. Needless to say he was not impressed. Luckily my friend’s referral was so strong that the prospect pursued him aggressively enough to make contact in the old fashioned way.
